Joe W. Johnson, of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Haynes, Arkansas on September 6th, he was a son of the late Willie Harris and Roberta (Johnson) Joplin. He attended high school in Forrest City, AR. After moving to Pennsylvania, he was employed for many years on highway and bridge construction. He also worked at some local factories.
Joe’s passion was his Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500 motorcycle. Over the years, he participated in hundreds of charity and benefit rides. He attended the 911 memorial ride in Muncy every year and the Rolling Thunder activities in Washington. He could be spotted throughout the area on his detailed red and white motorcycle and was well known for it.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Linda L. (Kupsky) Johnson with whom he spent the last 53 years; daughter, Erica Johnson, CA; son, Joseph Johnson, FL; 3 grandchildren: Ashley, Derek and Myah; and sister, Alberta. Two years ago, Joe found out he had another daughter, Yolanda Williams, AL, who at the age of 55, found him through a DNA match. He was happy to have her in his life along with 4 more grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Rufus, James, and Arthur “Teddy”; and sister, Esther.
At the request of Joe and his family, there will be no services. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck is assisting his family.
