Nancy L. (Hummel) Croop, age 88, of Berwick passed away suddenly at her home Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Born in Berwick on November 30, 1937, she was the daughter and last living child of the late Howard and Martha (Kalbach) Hummel. She spent her lifetime in the Berwick area and was a 1955 graduate of Berwick High School. She worked hard to provide a loving home for her husband and children, and she helped complete the many chores that come with living on the family farm.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her pets were a source of constant companionship, and they were often by her side. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson.
For many years, Nancy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; William (Billy) Hummel Sr, Richard (Dick) Hummel and her sister-in-law, Norma Hummel.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, William H. Croop with whom she celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on December 30, 2025; two daughters both of Berwick, Jackie L. Walker wife of Randy; and Cindy A. Laidacker wife of Eric Sr.; three step- grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her sister-in-law Rena Hummel wife of William.
At Nancy’s request, no services were held.
