George Brian Stalega, age 69, of Berwick passed peacefully away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Glen Brook Nursing Home.
Born in Berwick on August 19, 1956, he was the son of the late Charles and Joan (O’Brien) Stalega. George was a 1974 graduate of Berwick High School and later received an associate’s degree in business. In his younger years, he worked as a water proofer, eventually becoming the owner of Allstate Restoration. Later, he and his sister Cathy continued their father’s legacy by taking over the family business, Stalega Associates.
George was a member of Ss Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Berwick. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as golfing, traveling, and the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle. Those who knew him will remember his hardworking nature, his humor, and the way he cherished the people closest to him.
George will be greatly missed by his sister, Cathy Stalega, Berwick; and brother Charles “Chip” Stalega, Berwick. He was the beloved uncle to Charles John “CJ” Stalega; Cassie Killian and husband Dakota; and great-nephews, Carson and Daxton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Kevin Stalega in 2006.
A Devine Liturgy will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at SS Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 706 Warren St, Berwick with Reverend Vasyl Petura officiating. Interment will follow in St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Berwick. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC 633 E Third Street, Nescopeck.
