Jesse Michael Laubach, 40, a lifelong resident of Berwick and Nescopeck, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 9, 2026.
Born on December 1, 1985, at Berwick Hospital, Jesse was the son of Bradley Laubach and Mary (Hackenberg) Markle. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 2004, and later earned a degree in Auto Technology from Luzerne County Community College. He was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Jesse was known for his contagious smile and his ability to make others laugh. A talented guitar player, he had a deep love for the arts and was always creating in whatever medium he could. His unique style made his artwork instantly recognizable. He found peace in nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Jesse had a natural ability to fix anything and was known for his persistence, often working tirelessly until the job was done.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nancy Hackenberg, and paternal grandparents, David and Donna Laubach.
Jesse will be greatly missed by his parents, Mary (Hackenberg) Markle and husband Lester, and Bradley and Heather Laubach; his maternal grandfather Jesse Hackenberg; and his siblings: Bradley Laubach and Wife Rose of Wyoming, PA; Cassondra Joyce Laubach of Berwick, PA; Cody and Kenzie Stere, of Dallas, PA; Vestina Stere of Berwick Pa, and Matthew Laubach of Berwick, PA. He is also survived by his stepsiblings, Pearl Markle, Joshua Markle, Lester Adam Markle, and Chelsey Markle, along with several nieces and nephews: Isabelle, Bryce, Liam, Samuel, Carson, Carter, and Kaylee.
The viewing will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 14th, at Heller Funeral Home. LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday April 15th at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Church, 721 Monroe St, Berwick, PA, with Rev. Dominic Asagbor officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
