Richard A. Sink, Sr.

Richard A. Sink, Sr., age 87, of Berwick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Walter Reed, Washington, DC on February 18, 1939, he was a son of the late William H. and Dorthea (Guttshall) Sink. He was raised and educated in Berwick. In 1956, he entered the U.S. Navy and served honorably on active duty for 3 years before transferring to the reserves. For 45 years, he worked as a diesel mechanic and driver for Wise Potato Chips.

Richard was a member of New Covenant Church, Berwick and his faith in God never wavered.  His greatest love and joy was his family. He enjoyed spending time with all of them at any given opportunity. He also enjoyed traveling and eating out, especially to Lancaster and the Thousand Islands.

In 1959, he married his beloved wife, Janice P. (Ruckel) Sink. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage this past April. In addition to his wife, he will be greatly missed by his sons, Richard “Rick” Sink II and wife Cheryl, Berwick; Randy Sink and wife Andrea, Berwick; daughter, Sheri Albertson and husband Todd, Berwick; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Barbara Grosz; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Sink II; and sisters, Janie Orner and Mary Ann Birzer.

At Richard’s request, services will be private and at the convenience of his family.
