Bryan G. Covey, Sr., age 79, of Watsontown passed away on Sunday May 10, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Clinton, Kentucky on February 16, 1947, he was the son of the late James A. and Exie A. (Smith) Covey. He was a 1967 graduate of Christiana High School, Newark Delaware. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and later enlisted in the Air National Guard, retiring after 20 years of proudly serving his county. He was a plumber by trade at Amtrak in Bear, Delaware for 31 years.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Watsontown. Bryan enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and antique cars, especially the classic Studebaker automobile.
Bryan will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Margaret A. (Kendrick) Covey; daughter, Barbara Elliott; son, Brett Covey, and stepson, Alan “AJ” Weaver, Jr.; 5 cherished grandchildren, and 3 adored great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Karen Covey; nieces Kristen and Kerry, and his beloved dogs, “Biscuit” and “Daisy”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rodney Covey, and his dog, “Benny”.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, Voris Rd, Watsontown.
