We lost a good man on Monday July 20, 2026. Born in Bucks County nearly 84 years ago, Cary William Quintrell was the oldest of three children, born to Bill and Grace Quintrell.
He attended Quakertown Schools, graduating in 1960. That same year he enlisted in the Navy, assigned to the USS Daniel Joy, and later based in Bainbridge, Maryland as an arms instructor. Cary was employed in the building trade for 20 years before starting his own construction business, C.W Quintrell Remodeling and Repair. He retired in 2002.
Cary enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the best times were spent with his best friend, Bobby Frey of Mainville. He was also honored to be thought of as a grandfather to all of Bobby’s kids and grandchildren: Matt and Megan Frey and their children Taylor and Carson; Adam Frey and his children Adelyn and Claire; and Bobby C. and wife Abby Frey. All called him “Pap”. Cary had two of his own grandchildren that he was especially proud of: Braydon Quintrell, Bloomsburg and Logan Quintrell and wife Katie, Mountain Home, Idaho.
In Cary’s later years, he soldiered on despite many serious health issues and found joy in small carpentry projects and using his green thumb growing his vegetable garden.
Also surviving Cary is his wife, Nan, with whom he just celebrated 13 years of marriage. She says it wasn’t long enough but knows he’s at peace with the Lord.
A celebration of his life will be held in August.
In Lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be sent to the Mainville Volunteer Fire Company: 2234 Fire Hall Ln, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
