Joyce E. (Stout) Belalis, age 70, of Nescopeck passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Berwick on February 15, 1956, she was one of 7 children born to the late Arthur F. Sr and Iris E. (Smith) Stout. She was raised and educated in Nescopeck. For many years, she was employed as a seamstress at Berwick Knitwear, and later she worked as a CNA for Geisinger Hospice.
Joyce belonged to many organizations including the AMVETS in Ephrata, Lancaster County and the Slavonic Club, Berwick, and formerly the American Ukrainian Club, the Russian Club, West Berwick Fire Club. She enjoyed quilting and crafting, collecting antiques, going fishing and people watching. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. Most of all she loved visiting her kids and grandkids.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Rachel Belalis and companion Jospeh Kubasek, Nescopeck; Tara Gardner, Berwick; Joyce Palacios, Plymouth; Bobbi Jo Whitenight-Martinez and husband Manuel, Nescopeck; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers; Missy and Robert Eshleman, Rick and Rebecca Stout, Patricia Fitzgerald, Arthur Stout, Todd and Darlene Shirey and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth R. Whitenight, Jr in 2003; and life partner, Kenneth R. Whitenight, Sr in 2015.
At Joyce’s request there will be no public service.
