Matthew T. Hoze, age 53, of Berwick passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at home.
Born in Berwick on April 4, 1973, he was a son of the late George Andrew Hoze, Jr. and the late Carla Mae Dendler. He was a 1992 graduate of Berwick High School.
Matthew worked at Wise Potato Factory, Berwick for many years and later worked in landscaping, helping many people with yard work, doing odd jobs here and there. He also enjoyed working at the fair and was a volunteer for West Berwick Fire Co. He had a great sense of humor, always cracking jokes and making people laugh. Matthew enjoyed watching football especially the 49ers, shooting pool, bowling, and going to the Pocono Raceway to watch the races.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kylee M. Hoze and partner Mason Harrison, Berwick; his grandson, which he absolutely adored, Rhett E. Hoze, Berwick; sisters, Tracy M. Hoze and partner John Christiansen, Berwick and Gwen R. Dendler, Berwick, He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews; Jacob and Johnny Christiansen, Berwick, Emily Zidek, Sunbury and Seth Zidek, Berwick.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Christopher Hoze.
A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of his family.
