Marna L. Kania, age 82, of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday November 3, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on May 22, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Kelsey and Lydia (Boone) Gross. She was educated at Central Columbia High School. She worked for Berwick Cigar Factory, and later worked for Data Com, Berwick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Kania who passed in 2014; daughter, Stefanie Cieplik; and brothers, David, Richard and Barry Gross.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Stephen Laytar and wife Charlotte, Berwick; daughter, Stacy DeFrain and husband Rick, Nescopeck; grandchildren, Leah King, Justina High, Mason Laytar, Devan Defrain, Brieann Bugasch, Brayden DeFrain; great grandchildren, Jackson Kling, Ashton Kling, Cami High, Colin Bugasch, and Kylie Bugasch. She also leaves behind brother, Nelson Gross, Orangeville; sisters, Sandra Huber, Lime Ridge; and Denise Stout, Benton; and companion, Robert Gleason, Berwick.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. Heller Funeral Home Inc, Nescopeck is assisting her family.
