Arthur G. Ryman, Sr., 78, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Mifflin Township on January 20, 1937, he was a son of the late Ross G. and Dora M. (Eisenhower) Ryman. He was a graduate of Nescopeck High School and served in the 109th Division of the National Guard. He worked at Wise Potato Chips, Berwick for 17 years, and was a produce and dairy farmer. He owned Ryman’s produce stand for many years. Along with his wife, he also owned Ryman’s Inn, Nescopeck Township for 10 years.
Art was a hard-working man who enjoyed farming and living a simple life. He also liked hunting and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ryman in 2004; brothers, Luther and Paul Ryman; and brother-in-law, Ronald Benjamin.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Lisa K. Ryman, Nescopeck; son, Arthur G. Ryman, Jr, Nescopeck; and granddaughter, Alexandra P. Portelli, Nescopeck. He is also survived by brothers, Martin Ryman and wife Brenda, Slocum Township, Russell Ryman, Nescopeck, Carl Ryman, Nescopeck; sisters, Eleanor Franklin, and husband Dana, Huntington Mills, Evelyn Benjamin, Nescopeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck, is assisting his family.
