William Marvin Arner, Sr.
, 76, of Berwick, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village II.

Born February 27, 1939, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Marvin and Minnie (Wagner) Arner. He was raised and educated in the Central Columbia area. He was employed at Wise Potato for 37 years, prior to retiring.

He was an active member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Berwick. He enjoyed traveling, and going to fairs, carnivals, and car shows.

He will be greatly missed by his step daughters: Molly Parker-Whitmire and husband Douglas, Orangeville; Michelle Knorr and companion Tony, Hazleton; daughters: Mary Lynn and husband Ralph, Orangeville, Lillian Arner, Berwick; son, William Arner, Jr. and companion Desiree, North Carolina; one step-grandchild; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Mary Lou (Hook) Arner on January 17, 2012; step-son, Robert Parker, Jr.; step-granddaughter, Rachel Knorr; brother, Gerald Arner; and his wife’s parents, George and Florence Hook.

Services will be held at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00- 8:00 PM, and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
