Henry G. “Butch” Hollinger, Jr., 70, of Summerhill passed away late Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Berwick Hospital Center.
Born in Downingtown on May 23, 1945, he was the son of the late Margaret (Mahoney) and Henry G. Hollinger, Sr., and attended Benton High School. He worked at Will-O-Bett Dairy Farm in Berwick, and most recently, at Bowl Arena, West Hazleton.
Butch was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick. He liked working around his house and doing yard work, especially in the garden and flower beds. He enjoyed taking yearly trips to Disney World.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Celia “Chris” (Stout) Hollinger with whom he would have celebrated 43 years of marriage this month. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Amanda; brother-in-law, Dave Outt and wife Charlene, sisters-in-law, Mary “Kathy” Bower; and Donna Outt; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Showers; son, Henry Hollinger III; brother, Tom Hollinger; sister, Marion Hollinger; and brother-in-law, James Outt.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1315 Fairview Avenue, Berwick, with his pastor, Reverend Chad Hebrink officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 till the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Resource Center, 301A Boone Road, Bloomsburg, 17815; or the animal rescue center of the donor’s choice.
