Grace Anne (Smith) Cope, 78, of Berwick passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Berwick Hospital Center.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Leona G. (Litts) Smith. Her family moved often when she was a younger, so she was raised and educated in several locations. After settling in Pennsylvania, she worked hard to provide a loving home to her husband and daughter.
She enjoyed working on jigsaw and word puzzles. When she was younger, she enjoyed baking and cooking. She will be remembered by many for her sense of humor, and her ability to make others laugh.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tracie Slusser and husband Scott, Berwick; granddaughter, Christina Slusser and fiancé Jefferey Moore, Mifflinville; sister, Mary Jablonka and companion James Goddard, Hunlock Creek; brothers, Edward Smith, Exeter; Dale Smith, Louisiana; and Daniel Smith, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Cope in 2010; granddaughter, Wendy Michelle Slusser in 1997; and brothers, Joseph and “Bill” Smith.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck is assisting her family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or by going online to www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
