Dorothy (Hay) White , 85, formerly of Walnut Lane, Nescopeck, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville where she had been residing for the past 7 years.
She was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church, Zenith, and most recently, “Dot” attended the Salvation Army, Berwick, where she also volunteered as an assistant cook. She liked bells and had an extensive collection that she got from different places she visited, or that others would bring her from their travels. She enjoyed watching TV, and playing pitch with her family.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Hobson J. “Chub” White, 17 years ago; a son, Christopher David, in infancy; brothers, William, Howard, and Victor Hay; sisters, Mary Bianchi, and Agnes Mastriano.
She will be greatly missed by her sister, Ida Mae Preston of Luzerne; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews; and a great great-grand niece.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck with Lt. Trish Smouse officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Zenith. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
