Howard P. Hunter, Sr.
 50, of Berwick passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home.

Born in Berwick on June 24, 1966, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Clara Jane (Mowery) Hunter. Howie was a graduate of Berwick High School, and was a self-employed certified contractor, who was currently employed at Ty Construction.

Pop, as many people called him, was a member of the Ukrainian Club, Berwick, and a social member of the Berwick VFW Post 821. He was outdoorsman who liked hunting, fishing and camping. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his children: sons, Howard Hunter, Jr and wife Ashley, Berwick; Anthony Hunter, Pittsburg; Joseph Hunter, Berwick; daughter, Alicia Hunter and companion “Q”, Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Marissa, Alexis, Isiaih, Nijaun, Amber, Jayden, Sadie, Shawn, Brayden and Noah. He also leaves behind brothers: Ken Hunter and wife Connie, Turbotville; Ray Hunter and wife Penny, Bloomsburg; Jonah Hunter, Harrisburg; sisters: Shirley Wagner and husband Dennis, Nescopeck; Judy Fenstermacher and husband Larry, Muncy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Gloria Hunter and Mary Fenstermacher; and brother, Jack Mowery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, PA 18635 to help with Howard’s final expenses.
