Ross C. Masteller

Ross C. Masteller, 86, of Mifflin Township passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2016 at his home.

Born in Montour Township on May 29, 1930, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Florence V. (Derr) Masteller. He was raised and attended school in Rupert. Ross served in the US Army from 1950 to 1953. After being honorably discharged, he worked at TRW Danville for over 20 years.

Ross attended Hetlerville United Methodist Church. He liked playing Rummy and loved BINGO! He enjoyed fishing and hunting groundhogs. He spent many hours watching pro baseball games to pass the time.

Ross was preceded in death by his wife Jean M. (McMurtrie) Masteller in 2005; sons, Daniel, Timothy and James Masteller; sisters, Lois Robinson and Marion Confer; brothers, John and Ken Masteller.

He will be greatly missed by his sons, David Masteller and wife Linda, Bloomsburg; Mark Masteller and fiancé Deb Bacca, Nescopeck; daughter, Mary Hartzel and husband Steve, Nescopeck; 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Suzanna, Nina, Wayne, Walker, Destevan, Daniel Jr, Andrew and Joshua; 15 great grandchildren, Levi, Luke, London, Sky, Haley, Jonathan, Charlee, Wyatt, Landon, Grace, Logan, Blake, Aiden, AJ, and Faolan; sister, Doris Campbell, Millville; and several nieces and nephews.

At Ross’s request, all services will be private. Interment will take place in Mifflinville Cemetery next to his wife.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
