Beth Ann Blaine


Beth Ann Blaine,
 59, of Berwick passed away suddenly on Monday, January 9, 2017 at her home.

Born in Berwick on February 7, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Ann (Williams) and John C. Wolchanski, Jr. She graduated from Berwick High School in 1975. Beth Ann worked at K-Mart until 1991, and then Berwick Offray until 2007. After deciding to further her education, she attended Allied Medical and Technical Institute, Forty-Fort, where she graduated as an ECG/Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant, earning a 4.0 GPA. After graduating, she was employed at Interstate Blood and Plasma, Wilkes-Barre, until retiring in 2012.

Beth Ann was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church, Berwick, and a member of the D.A.V. auxiliary. She enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She was an artist, using her talent to create beautiful paintings. She liked gardening and camping. Her greatest love was spending time with her cherished grandchildren, even volunteering to watch 5 of them at once.

She was the loving wife, of 19 years, to Fred R. Blaine, Sr.; devoted mother to daughters, Michelle Slusser and husband Steven, Berwick; Elizabeth Pursel and husband Donald, Berwick; and wonderful “Grammy” to Bailey, Jaxon, Christian, Zane, Kenley and Maggie. She also leaves behind stepchildren; Barb Harris and husband Ed; Krissy Caffey; Fred Blaine Jr. and wife Maureen; Kenny Blaine and wife Telma; Jeannie Blaine; and all their children, James Checco; Justin, Jacob and Julia Deska; Jackie and Jonah Harris; Nick, Sean and Adam Harvey; Tim, Eileen and Brook Blaine; Dana Blaine, Breya Hamlin, Mackenzie Blaine; and Alena Blaine; great grandchildren, Cameron Deska, Carter and Rose Harvey, and Kayleigh Harvey. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Susan DeHaven and husband David, Berwick; Jennifer Zologa, Berwick; nephews, Zachary and Ryan; and niece, Andrea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Remley in 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2016 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, with her pastor, Rev. David Kingsborough officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
