Mary E. Stauffer, 98, formerly of Catawissa, passed away on January 10, 2017 in New York. She had been residing in the North Tonawanda, NY area since 2008.
Born in Bloomsburg on April 10, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Alta (Fetterman) Rockwell. She was raised and educated in the Bloomsburg Area. She worked hard to provide a warm and loving home for her husband and children.
Mary was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Riverside. She enjoyed visiting with people in nursing homes, as well as shut-ins. She was a very intelligent woman who enjoyed completing the daily crossword and cryptoquip puzzles. She also loved to read.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Susanne Bedworth, North Tonawanda, NY; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Stauffer in 2007; son, Ronnie Stauffer in 2008; son-in-law, Paul Bedworth in 2008; brothers, Warren Rockwell, Jr and Leroy Rockwell; and sister, June Bucher. She was the last of her immediate family.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Lester H. Wedekindt, Inc. 3290 Delaware Avenue, Kenmore, NY. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
