Dean E. Haydt, 83 of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home, with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Walnutport, PA on September 22, 1933, he was a son of the late Reuben H. and Eva V. (Kulp) Haydt. He attended school in Northampton, and served with the Army National Guard for 6 years in the early 1950’s. Dean worked as a cross country truck driver for several trucking companies. He retired from Yellow Freight in 1988.
During retirement, Dean enjoyed spending his free time going fishing.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor M. ((Sodl) Haydt, whom he married on June 20, 1953 in St. Elizabeth’s Church in Fullerton, PA. He also leaves behind daughters: Carol Reese of Slatington, PA; and Colleen Pasquale of Conroe, TX; 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Kibler, Whitehall, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Pruzinsky and Delores Fritzinger; and brother, Reuben Haydt.
At Dean’s request, there will be no public services. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck is honored to serve his family.
