Nicholas Patlovich, Jr.

Nicholas Patlovich, Jr, 88, of Berwick passed away at his home on October 9, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Berwick on January 23, 1929, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Kinney) Patlovich, Sr. He graduated from Berwick High School in 1947, during which he achieved his Eagle Scout badge. He later attended Lafayette College, Easton where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Nicholas served in the Army National Guard from 1950 to 1952. After an honorable discharge, he worked at McDonald Aircraft in Milwaukee, WI. Most recently he was employed at Lawrence Livermore Labs in Livermore, CA, retiring after 35 years.

Nick was a member of Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church in Berwick. He was also a member of the Elks in Berwick. He enjoyed spending his free time woodworking, attending festivals and wine tasting. He was a Marilyn Monroe fan with a vast collection of memorabilia.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Jan Rodriguez and husband Frank, Berwick, their children, Jennifer Alaniz; Jessica Torriente; Courtney Duldulao; Anthony Duldulao, Jr; Rosana Ayala; great grandchildren, Amaya, Abel, Paityn, Taleayah, Enzo, Mai’ari, Brooklyn, and Agustin. He is also survived by daughter, Tamara Bognar, California; her daughters, Brandee Pippin; grandchildren, Aeddon, and Hunter. He also leaves behind a brother, Ted Patlovich and wife Joan, Florida; sisters, Martha Matzko and husband Paul, Philidelphia; Barbara O’Neal and husband Rodger, Delaware; and many nieces and nephews, including Scott, George and Carol Masich, and Libby Miller; as well as many friends and extended family including, Cheryl Wilson and J.D. Buckeye.

In addition to his parents, Nicholas was preceded in death by his first wife, Helene R. (Danheim) Patlovich; his second wife, Marilyn (Chalifoux) Patlovich; grandchildren, Heather Drumond and Cody Drumond; sisters, Julia Kurtz-Hoosty; Anna Vaxmonsky; Mary Sircovics; and Evelyn Pegg Bower; and a brother, Dr. Joe Patlovich.

A funeral service will be held on at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church, Berwick, with Father Michael Demko officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Annunciation Cemetery. His body will lie in repose at the church starting at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2017, with a parastas service at 6:00 PM. Family will receive friends until 8:00 PM.
