Louis “Wayne” Ring, 63, of Nanticoke passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
Born on March 31, 1955 in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of Louis Ring of California and the late Barbara (Metzger) Ring. Wayne graduated from Crestwood High School in 1973. He was a talented musician, singer, songwriter and DJ. Over the past few years, Wayne became more involved with his faith, attended several churches. His music writing became more religious and he wrote several Christian songs. Wayne also owned Crestwood Video in Mountaintop for several years in the early 1990’s, before moving to Florida.
Wayne, known by many as “Pocono Wayne” liked being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and camping. He was a very social person who found pleasure in telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved animals, especially his dogs “Garth” who he had for many years, and later after returning from Florida, he had “Shakira”.
He will be greatly missed by his son, Brandon Ring, Glen Lyon; and grandchildren: Cadence and Julian. Locally, he is survived by a sister, Connie Ring, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Mark Ring, Wilkes-Barre; and he also has several siblings in California.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sons, Brian Ring and Wayne C. Ring; and grandparents, Agnes and Francis Metzger-Keithline.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
