Constance L. (Briggs) Hartman, 87, of Nescopeck, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at home.
Born in Nescopeck on December 7, 1934, she was born to the late Melvin T. and Veronica (Klimczak) Briggs. She attended school in Wapwallopen. Connie worked as a seamstress at the Jacket Factory and later Knit Mode. She retired from Akers Manufacturing, Berwick where she was a supervisor.
Connie was a member of Jonestown Church. She loved to sew, even outside of work. She mended clothes and made alterations through the business she had at her house called Connie’s Alterations. She also made wedding gowns, prom dresses, and outfits for many occasions. Connie also loved going to the beach.
She will be greatly missed her husband of 27 years, Raymond “Gene” E. Hartman; son Henry “Buddy” Herring and wife Joyce, Nescopeck; daughter, Linda Fox and companion Dennis Solarsky, Benton; stepdaughter Carina Napier, Kentucky; grandchildren, Donna Kerchner and husband Brian; Samuel Herring and wife Tracy; Janette Fox McHenry and husband Thomas; Bobbi Jo Fox and companion Jesse Hollenthoner; Tabitha Anderson; Marie Boyd; great-grandchildren Tessa, Addison, Cassandra, Brandon, Beckham, and Kayden; brother, William Briggs and wife Delores, Wapwallopen; sister, Phyllis Reichert, Berwick; sister-in-law Eileen Briggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Herring and Henry Futoma; and brothers Richard and Charles Briggs.
A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home LLC 633 E. Third St Nescopeck, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Front Street, Berwick.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help defray her final expenses.
