Robert W. Morris, 73, of Mifflin Township passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre where he was a patient under hospice care for the past few days.
Born in Sunbury on July 4, 1948, he was a son of the late William R. and Betty L (Walter) Morris. He graduated from Middleburg Joint High School, class of 1966 and went on to receive his Associates Degree in Business Management from Williamsport Community College. In 1969, he entered the US Army and served honorably in Vietnam. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a manager at Food Bag Convenience Store for over 12 years.
Robert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mifflinville. He was artistic and liked to create etchings in wood with a burning tool. He also enjoyed bird watching.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Deborah L. (Mausteller) Morris with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this May. He also leaves behind a son, Michael Morris and wife Dawn Jones, Bloomsburg; sisters, Denise Steel and husband Thomas, Williamsport; sister, Mary Kerstetter and companion Jeff Hayes, Richfield; sister-in-law, Carol Morris, Mechanicsburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and an uncle, Carson Morris of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Timothy W. Morris and Philip A. Morris.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck, followed by a memorial service at noon with Pastor Chad Hebrink officiating.
