Richard L. Mazur

Richard L. Mazur, 61, of Bloomsburg passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 14, 2022, at his home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on June 30, 1961, he was a son of the late Edward J Mazur and Blanch Mallery-Mazur. He was raised and educated in the Wilkes-Barre area. After graduation, he entered the US Marine Corps where he served until 1991. After an honorable discharge, Rick earned his CDL and started driving truck. For the past 20 years, he was employed as a driving instructor at Metropolitan Trucking and was also a driver for Leighow Oil Company on weekends.

Rick was a member of the Nescopeck VFW Post 8227, the Berwick Elks and the Nescopeck Fire Department. He enjoyed playing golf, shooting pool, and motorcycle riding. He liked spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Regina “Gina” M. (Ptaszkowski) Mazur with whom he would have celebrated 5 years of marriage this year. He also leaves behind a daughter, Nicole Drob, Berwick; stepchildren, Amber Kramer and husband Cody, Berwick; Jeffrey Tomashefski and wife Ro, York, PA; grandchildren, Madalyn; Makayla; Merrick; Destiny; Silas; and Paul James; a brother, Bob Lazuski, NY; a sister, Patricia Ibarra, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
