Joan M. (Mylet) Davenport, 98, of Dorrance Township passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top.

Born in Dorrance Township on June 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Philip J and Theresa (Broyan) Mylet. She was a graduate of Fairview High School, class of 1940. After graduating, she was employed as the secretary for the head of the AC&F, Berwick. Later, she was the Dorrance Twp. secretary for several years.

Joan was a very active member of St Mary, Our Lady Help of Christians, Dorrance where she was a member of the St Theresa Guild. For many years Joan prepared the altar by maintaining the linens, candles, and flowers. For several years, she planned the summer picnic for the blind association. After her son’s death, Joan found peace, love, and consolation as a member of the Third Order of Carmelites. She was instrumental in having chapels built in honor of her son and parents in New Guinea and India.

In addition to her parents and husband, Henry K. Davenport, she was preceded in death by her son, Henry F. Davenport who died in 1977; sisters, Helen Mylet and Josephine (Mylet) Bilek; and brothers, Philip, Frank and Theodore Mylet.

She will be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews.
