Don E. Hopper
Don E. Hopper, age 60, of Huntington Township, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 21st 2022 at his home.
Born in Berwick on November 26, 1961, he was a son of the late Jesse R and Nancy J (Ohl) Hopper. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1979, and earned an associate degree from Williamsport Area Community College. He also furthered his education at Luzerne County Community College. Don was employed by Talen Energy at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Salem Township.
Don was an active member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Berwick, and was a member of IBEW 1600. In his younger years, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, hiking, riding his motorcycle out west, and especially the annual camping trips to Worlds End with his family.
Don was a dedicated, faithful, loving, selfless person; always putting the needs of others above his own. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by son, Don E. Hopper Jr; daughter, Jessica Hopper; his fiancée Shelley Litz; her children, Sarah West and husband Travis; Emily and Sam Litz. He also leaves behind “PopPop” Jerry Garbacik, Berwick; a brother, Jesse “Buzz” Hopper Jr and wife Rosemary, Berwick; sisters, Nancy Moyer and husband John, Huntingdon; Pamela Kleintob and husband Michael, Berwick; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins; and special friend, Johnny Swank.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an uncle, Robert Ohl and wife Jean; and a great nephew.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM at First Reformed UCC, 301 W 2nd St., Berwick, PA 18603.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to his church, First Reformed UCC.
