Marion J. Bloom

Marion J. (Michael) Bloom, of Berwick, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022,in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Berwick on February 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Amon R. and Hazel V. (Nuss) Michael. She attended Berwick High School and worked at several local sewing factories including Keck’s, Lady Ester and Kaydette, she also worked at the Town Tavern and the Eagles Lodge.

She was a member of St. James Church in Zenith where she was a former youth counselor for Luther League along with her husband. She also was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Berwick and a social member of the Mifflin Fire Company. She liked to read and sew, as well as cooking, baking and canning. She also enjoyed listening to country music.

Marion will be greatly missed by her children: Christine and her husband Wayne Kemp, Berwick; Alan J. Bloom and his wife Eileen, Bloomsburg; Clifford Bloom, Newnan, Georgia; Darlene Burd and her husband Eugene, Wapallopen; cherished grandchildren Abby Burd, Eugene Burd IV, Ian Bloom, Stanley Bloom, Shannon Bloom, Brigitte Bloom, Tara Bloom, Christopher Bloom, Antoinette Bucher, Wayne Kemp III; and 18 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind three sisters, Nancy Mesick and her husband Bryant, Wilkes-Barre, Kay Shotwell and her husband Jim, Wilkes-Barre, Barbara Mowery, Mifflinville and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jay F. Bloom, to whom she was married for 59 years before his passing on October 28, 2009; and her grandson, Daniel Traugh who died on December 7, 2018.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E. Third St, Nescopeck, with Pastor Deb Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
