Craig G. Edwards, 78, of Lime Ridge passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Berwick on May 17, 1943, he was a son of the late Gaylord H and Anna (Seely) Edwards. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1961. He was employed at US Steel until the Berwick plant closed, and then at Poloron in Lime Ridge until that plant closed. He later worked at S&B Foundry and retired from McGee Carpet which became Autoneum.
In 1962, he married Gladys “Maxine” Boone. For their entire marriage they lived in Lime Ridge, where they raised their family, and are members of Lime Ridge United Methodist Church. He was very devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In his younger years he liked bowling and camping with his family. Craig was a great conversationalist and brightened everyone’s day with his humor. He had a great talent with working on cars and fixing items around the house. He took great pleasure in mowing the lawn on his tractor. Craig loved hearing stories about his grandchildren’s accomplishments.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Maxine; beloved children: Jeannine Roberts and husband Jim, Espy; Darin Edwards and wife Julie, Lime Ridge; Stephanie Young and husband Brian, York; Alison Schechterly and husband Tim, Hunlock Creek; and 16 cherished grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Rodney Edwards and Ray Edwards.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Lime Ridge United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. A celebration of life will follow at the Lime Ridge Community Center.
