Dolores R. Shock

Dolores R. Shock, age 92, of Dorrance Twp, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at home.

Born in Plains on October 11, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Krol) Gayewski. Dolores was a graduate of Plains High School. For 19 years, she worked as a dietician at St. Stanislaus Medical Center. Later she worked at Center Inn, where she retired after 5 years.

Dolores was a member of Saint Mary, Our Lady Help of Christians, Dorrance. She enjoyed cooking, especially around the holidays and for family gatherings. She liked to sew in her free time. She loved the fall weather and watching the leaves change. She also enjoyed reading her bible.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Mark Shock, Dorrance; Denise Shock, Dorrance; Ralph Shock and his wife, Pond Hill; grandchildren, Derek, Bryan, Michelle, and Megan; and 4 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Anne Loyack, Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent J. Shock Jr; brothers, Frank and John Gayewski; and sisters, Nellie Turos, Mary Krywicki, Josephine Monko, Francis Lapsansky, Sophie Griglock, and Stella Vaxmonsky.

A Mass of Christian Burial at St Mary’s Our Lady Help of Christians will take place at the convenience of the family, followed by interment in the Parish Cemetery.
