Richard B. Unger, age 69, of Numidia, formerly of Berwick, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Born in Berwick on July 30, 1953, he was a son of the late Lee and Zelda (Harmon) Unger. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1971. For over 40 years, Rich was employed at Wise Potato Chips, Berwick.
In his free time, he enjoyed buying and selling antiques. He also liked to go camping with his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 45 years, Ellen C. (Kessler) Unger on December 4, 2017; a sister, Marla Miller; and brothers-in-law, Jack Vought and Philip Ciampi.
He will be greatly missed by his son, Richard Unger II and wife Lisa, Numidia; daughter, April Shultz and husband Jason, Nescopeck; cherished grandchildren, Zander, Makayla, Landon and Blake. He also leaves behind sisters, Doreen Vought, Mifflinville; Linda Ciampi, Berwick; Connie Arner and husband Randy, Berwick; Debbie Deebel and husband Gary, Mifflinville; brother, Dave Unger and wife Patty, Maumee, OH; brother-in-law, Jack Miller, Berwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service.
