John J. Renaud Sr, 93, of Nescopeck, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Birchwood Nursing Home and Healthcare Center, Nanticoke.
Born in Hazleton on November 29, 1928, he was the son of the late Francis and Susanna (Michaels) Renaud Sr. He graduated from Hazle Township High School and then entered the US Army. He also worked as a construction foreman at Consolidated Engineers in Baltimore, Maryland.
John loved gardening, including raising flowers and plants from seed. He also loved his birds.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Susan Trice and husband Dawson, Denton, Maryland; John Renaud Jr and wife Sophia, Drums; Richard Renaud of Nescopeck and companion Tuula Danca, Dallas, Pennsylvania; Karen Weaver and husband Kevin, Mifflin; and Bonnie Broyan and husband Ben, Berwick; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy B. (Serafin) Renaud, who passed away May 23, 2010; brothers Francis “Jim”; Conrad, Harry, Richard, and Alphonse; sister Betty Michaels; and grandson “J.P.”
