Larry G. Beck

Larry G. Beck, 75, of Nescopeck, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at River View Nursing and Rehab in Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland on February 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Winifred G. (Smith) Beck and Harry M. Powlus. He graduated from Central Columbia High School and served in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1972. For most of his life, he was a self-employed contractor who over the years built many homes.

Larry was a member of St. James Church in Zenith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman here in the area as well as in Canada. He used his talents as a builder to serve others on several mission trips to Guatemala where he helped build new homes.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Heather C. Beck Ross and husband Joseph, Canton, Ohio; April C. Bressler and husband Nate, Berwick; son, Michael C. Beck and wife Amanda, Bloomsburg; grandchildren: Brendan Ross; Shane Woolsey; Becca Martz; Kaitlyn Martz; Maddy Beck; Ali Beck; and Ben Roth; sisters, Susan Mensinger and husband Wayne, Nescopeck; Lori Brown and husband Scott, Bloomsburg; a brother, Tracy Beck and wife Sue; many nieces and nephews and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter Beck; and brother Terry Beck.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow at Elan Memorial Park in Bloomsburg.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
