J Loueen Carter

J Loueen Carter, 85, of Hollenback Township passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Sugarloaf Township on June 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Warren R. and Jasamine (Shiner) Forsythe. She graduated from Nescopeck High School. Loueen worked at RCA, Mountain Top, Tom’s Kitchen, Conyngham, and prior to retirement, Pilot in Drums. She also helped on the family farm since her childhood.

She was a member of Mt Zion United Church of Christ, Briggsville where she was involved with the Ladie’s Aide and Consistory for several years. She was a member of Eastern Star, Mayflower Chapter 107, Hazleton and also a life member of VFW Post 8161 Auxiliary, Conyngham. She liked gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking. She made pies for many events held at the church.

In 1962 she married Howard “Howie” Carter. Together they shared nearly 57 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2019.

In addition to her parents and husband Howard, she is also preceded by her first husband John A. Pfromm; son-in law, Carl E. Pauff; brothers, Warren W. Forsythe and wife Thelma; John “Porkie” Forsythe and wife Suzanne; and nephews, Dale and Eugene Forsythe.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, John A. Pfromm Jr. and wife YongSun, UT; Bret Pfromm and wife Shelly, Nescopeck; daughters, Cynthia L. Pauff, Lime Ridge; Vonda K. Yoder and husband Bryan, NC; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Yoder, Rebecca Yoder, Julie Walter, James Pfromm, Jonathan Pfromm and Candice Slack; 7 great grandchildren, Grace, Carly and Sarah; Calvin and Vera; Jade; and Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews including Willis Forsythe and wife Susan; Roy Koch and wife Barbara.

Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with her pastor Robert Klingerman officiating. Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at 5:00 PM.
