Ethel M. Naugle, age 97, of Bloomsburg passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehab.
Born in Zenith on August 27, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harvey W. and Hazel A. (Campbell) Naugle. She was educated at Harter School in Zenith.
After the death of her parents at an early age, Ethel took over caring for her younger siblings. She worked hard to provide a loving home for them to grow. She enjoyed working around the house and would help in the fields. She also sold Avon for several years.
Ethel was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Zenith where she sang in the choir and was a member of the young people’s group. She liked gardening and growing flowers. She loved baking and made delicious treats such as cookies, pies, and apple dumplings. She also enjoyed cooking. In her quiet time, she liked quilting, embroidering, and painting by number.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Naugle; Mary Mensinger and husband Harold; brothers-in-law, Jim Warner and Tom Ball Sr.
She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Marian Warner, Nescopeck; Lorraine Ball, Bloomsburg; foster brother, Howard Campbell Jr, whom she helped raise; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 26, 2022, at St James Lutheran Church, Zenith Road, Nescopeck Township. Interment will follow in St James Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM till the time of service.
