Johnny R. Yost, 53, of Glen Lyon, formerly of Hazleton, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
Born in Hazleton on August 25, 1969, he was a son of the late Joseph and Alice M. (McAfee) Yost. He was a proud graduate of Hazleton High School, class of 1987.
Johnny loved listening to music, especially Disco and greatly enjoyed dancing. He also liked going for walks.
He will be greatly missed by his husband of 4 years, Thomas Panzarella; sisters: Joy A. Berry and husband James Bodnar, Freeland; Diana Berry, Hazleton; brothers: Norman R Berry and wife Barbara, Hazleton; Robert Berry, Shillington; Joseph Yost, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Marchelle Yost; maternal grandmother, Annie Mae McAffee; and paternal grandmother, Mildred Whitenight.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family or sent to the funeral home to help defray his final expenses.
