Anthony L. D’Alberto, age 71, of Berwick passed away unexpected on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at his home.
Born in Berwick on July 13, 1951, he was a son of the late Joseph L and Anna M. (Ciocci) D’Alberto. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1969, and continued his education at Wilkes-Barre Business School. In 1966, he began working in the maintenance department at Fulton Lamp Factory. In 1978, he earned his CDL and started driving truck for Gold Star until 1985 when he began transporting for Wise Potato Chips. He retired from Walmart in 2018, where he drove 13 years. He received the 5-million-mile award for driving with no accidents.
Anthony attended Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick and was a long-time social member of West Berwick Hose Co. 1. He loved baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading books about history especially those about WWII. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years, Janice K. (Kishbaugh) D’Alberto; son, Christopher Farr and wife Caroline, Lightstreet; daughter, Carmella Leffler and husband Jarrett, Mifflinville; grandchildren, Cameron Farr and wife Jessica; and Carson Farr. He is also survived by his brother, Nicholas D’Alberto, Moosic; sister, Annette McHugh and husband Michael, West Pittston; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; extended family; and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Babula.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck with Pastor Chad Hebrink officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
