Mabel D. Bowman, age 92, of Hunlock Township passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehab, Nanticoke.
Born in Hunlock Creek on September 4, 1930, she was the last living child of the late Solomon and Anna (Lamoreaux) Hutchins. She graduated from Harter High School in West Nanticoke. Mabel was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her time to providing a loving home for her husband and children.
She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom, Muhlenberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Elliott G Bowman Sr. on October 30, 2016; grandsons, Jason Presnal and Eric Bowman; sisters, Elsie Hutchins; Elva (Hutchins) Mitchell; Pearl (Hutchins) Wilczinski; and brothers, Lewis, Russell, William and Ralph Hutchins.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Madge Cleghorn and husband Danny, Georgia; sons, Elliott Bowman, Jr, Shickshinny; Ray Bowman Sr and wife Sonia, Shickshinny; cherished grandchildren: Wanda Slater; George Cleghorn and wife Patty; Angela Moore; Raymond Bowman Jr; Kelly Littleton and husband Nathan; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no services. Heller Funeral Home, LLC, Nescopeck is assisting her family.
