Michael J. Fraind, age 74, of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Berwick on April 10, 1949, he was a son of the late Michael G. and Eleanor J. (Mozdzierz) Fraind. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1968, where his close friends knew him as Mootz. Mike entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1969 and served until 1971, during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, he worked at Asplundh Tree Company for 15 years.
Mike was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Berwick. He was also a former member of Berwick VFW Post 821. Mike enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and hunting in his younger years.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Cynthia A. (Neufer) Fraind; daughter, Amanda L. Toth and husband Christopher, their children, Cydnie P. Toth and boyfriend Thomas Monico and Payton J. Toth of Berwick; son, Cameron M. Fraind and his children, Brittany L. Breisch and Cody M. Fraind of Danville; and 2 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters, Anita Featherman and husband David, Harrisburg; Gloria Buck and husband Gary, Benton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James A. Fraind.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
