George W. Stiltenpole

George W. Stiltenpole, 84, of Nescopeck, entered the kingdom of heaven surrounded by his loving family at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Thursday June 15th, 2023.

Born on Christmas Day in Mt. Nebo, PA, he was the son of Riley & Florence (Ohler) Stiltenpole. George resided in Scottdale, PA before meeting his wife, Emily. They would have been married 65 years on November 1st.

George worked and retired from USX Steel Fairless Works. George took pride in refurbishing anything he put his mind to. He was a Jack of all trades and Master of most. He worked many odd jobs including ceramic tile settings. He took pride and enjoyed the restoration of many types of antique cars. He called it his labor of love. George was awarded the Henry Ford Master Award for assembly line quality restoration with his own hands among many others. He also enjoyed working outdoors with landscaping and beautifying his property, always with his loyal companion, “Cami” by his side.

George is proceeded in death by his parents Riley & Florence (Ohler) Stiltenpole; siblings, James A. Jr.; Donald; and Gladys Smartnick, all of Mt. Pleasant; Grace Thomas of Bristol, PA; a grandson, Michael Johnson, Berwick and son-in-law, Kevin Ginetti, Levittown.

George will be greatly missed by his loving wife of nearly 65 yrs. Emily J. (Pytlak) Stiltenpole, Nescopeck. They had 2 beautiful daughters, Deborah Johnson and husband Arthur, Bloomsburg; Sharon Ginnetti, Levittown; grandchildren, Daniel R. Johnson and wife Shannon; Dawn Sopkanich and husband Jon, Berwick; Christie Warner and husband Bryan, Langhorne, PA; Jonathan Ginnetti, Levittown; great grandchildren, Riley & Bryce Johnson, Berwick; Emily & Ariel Warner Langhorne; and sister, Dorothy Queer, Levittown; along with many nieces and nephews.

Services are private at the family’s request.
