Flora “Darlene” Kester, age 76, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at home.
Born in Bloomsburg on July 23, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth C. and Martha I. (Vanpelp) Walk. She attended Millville High School. She worked at Bloomsburg Hospital for 33 years, as well as the Salvation Army Thrift Store, Bloomsburg for 14 years.
Darlene was a member of Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia. She enjoyed collecting old people figurines, bird houses, and sunflowers. Darlene also liked feeding birds.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, William W. Kester, with whom she spent the past 33 years; sons, Timothy McWilliams and wife Cindy, Millertown; Scott McWilliams and wife Amy, Millertown; Richard McWilliams and wife Theresa, Nescopeck; daughter, Julie Moyer and husband Justin, Alaska; stepson, William Kester, Berwick; and stepdaughter, Bernadette Tresnoski, Nescopeck Twp; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind brother, Daniel Walk and wife Ellen, Jerseytown; sister, Laurie Karns and husband Jim, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church St, Bloomsburg with Pastor Doug Lyon officiating, immediately followed by a celebration of life. Burial will take place in Millville Cemetery, following the celebration.
