Melanie A. (Domingue) Anderson

Melanie A. (Domingue) Anderson, age 31, of Berwick, PA lost her brave battle against cancer on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Columbia Maryland on March 27, 1992, Melanie was the daughter of Tommy J. Domingue Jr of Fairfax, VA and the late Kristine A. (Bruns) Domingue. When she was born, she completed the family being the baby sister to TJ and Michael and was the only daughter. Melanie spent her early childhood in Ashburn, VA and then relocated to PA as a young teen with her mother, where she graduated from Berwick High School, Berwick, PA. After high school, Melanie relocated to the Northern VA area where she continued her education at Northern Virginia Community College.

While living in NoVA, Melanie reconnected with Dan Anderson, who became the love of her life. She followed her heart back to Berwick, and Melanie and Dan married in 2021. While in Berwick, she earned a degree from Luzerne County Community College as a Substance Abuse Counselor. Prior to becoming ill, Melanie was a devoted counselor who worked at Clearbrook Treatment Center in Laurel Run. Melanie was a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and substance abuse recovery.

In addition to her career interests, Melanie enjoyed painting and other crafts, going to concerts, cooking, baking, taking care of her beloved pets – Orion and Kitana, and cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, the Baltimore Orioles and anyone playing the Yankees.

In addition to her father, she will be deeply missed by her husband, Daniel Anderson; brothers, Tommy “TJ” Domingue III, of Baltimore, MD; Michael J. Domingue, of NY City; grandparents, Harriet and Gilbert Bruns Sr.; and Dorothy Domingue. She also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Tommy J. Domingue, Sr.

Melanie’s family would greatly appreciate donations made in her honor to the following charities: The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; and the Oxford House, Inc.

Services will be held privately.
