Roland Leroy Bower passed away September 9, 20023 at Glenn Brook Rehab Center, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Riverside, CA on July 29, 1954, to the late Roland and Peggy Bower. He was employed for 41 years before retiring from Big Heart Pet Foods.
He enjoyed woodworking, making model cars/trains/buildings, racing RC cars, darts, music, motorcycle rides, target shooting, astronomy, fishing, history, grilling, and NFL Chargers football.
Rollie was a wonderful husband for 40 years to his wife Kathy and never afraid to show his love. He was a loving and caring father to his sons Roland Jr, Bethlehem, Matthew Bower and wife Brittney, Berwick and daughter Susan Porth, Florida. He was a great “Pappy” to his grandchildren who were the apples of his eye, Claudia Benshoff, Zachary Benshoff, Allie Kiniry, AnaLisa Jurbala, Avalynn Cragle, Skyla Vogt, and Tripp Bower. He is also survived by his brother, Barry; sister-in-law Sharon; and a daughter Autumn Bower.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by a brother Boyd; and oldest grandson and fishing/target buddy, Zachary Benshoff, whom he missed terribly.
At the request of the family no service will be held.
