Wanda D. Gunther, age 92, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Berwick on July 28, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Eugene L and Mildred (Moharter) Harvey. She was employed at Ames and Grants department stores for several years, and also worked for Dr. Simington in Berwick. For 45 years, she groomed dogs at her own shop “Wanda’s Dog Grooming”.
She liked sewing and feeding stray cats.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Thomas L. Gunther, with whom she celebrated 73 years of marriage this past March; children, Linda Boone and husband Jody, Orangeville; Thomas Gunther II and wife Linda, Hampton, VA; Cindy Kemp, Berwick; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson. She also leaves behind her brother, Bill Harvey; sister-in-law, Dana Trago, Keeseville NY, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen G Gunther in infancy; 2 grandsons, Jeremy and Jody; and sisters, Betty Stout and June Suttleff.
At Wanda’s request there will be no services. Private burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
