Sharon S Rood, age 70, of Benton passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in East Orange NJ on November 20, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Sheldon C and Audrey E (Sayre) Lamoreaux. She graduated from Northwest Area High School. For several years, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Mercy Center, and later she worked in the cafeteria at Lake Lehman High School.
She liked to watch cooking shows, videos, and NASCAR races. She loved travelling with her daughter and family especially with granddaughter Aislinn to see her aunt Carol in South Carolina.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Keri Ann Edwards and husband Allen, Benton; Tracy Boston and husband Fred, Hunlock Creek; sons, David Wildoner, Benton; Matthew Wildoner and wife Tracey, Hunlock Creek; Robert Rood II and wife Janelle, Sweet Valley; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind brothers, Lloyd Lamoreaux Sr and wife Kathy, Hunlock Creek; William Lamoreaux and wife Debra, Mountain Top; Sheldon Lamoreaux Jr and wife Roseann, Hershey; many nieces and nephews; step grandmother, Lillian Sayre; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rood Sr, sister, Rene Lamoreaux; grandson, Anthony Wildoner; granddaughter, Victoria Rood, and a grandson in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Bloomingdale Cemetery, Shickshinny. Family will receive friends on Wednesday October 18, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
