Michael A. Hummell, age 61, of Shickshinny Valley passed away on Thursday October 26, 2023, at his home, after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. His loving wife, family and beloved dogs by his side.
Born in Old Bridge, New Jersey on December 28, 1961, he was the son of the late Cleveland Hummell Sr, and Betty Stanton. He attended Central Regional High School, Bayville, NJ and was employed for 33 years at Altium Packaging, (formerly known as Liquitane, Consolidated Containers, and Bercon Packaging).
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 23 years, Faith A. (Faux) Hummell; daughters, Melony Tzounakos-Helm, and Calandra Weisenberger; stepson, Joshua Canouse; stepdaughter, Samijo Matthews; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Eli, Makayla, Anastasia, Logan, Kendyll, and Kenadee. He also leaves behind his sisters, Susan Hickman, Betty Jean Paden, and Catherine Gliem; brothers, Cleveland Hummell Jr, James Hummell, and Edward Hummell; stepsiblings, Christine Balliet and Russell Stanton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lois Faux; and brothers-in-law, Donnie Gehers Faux and Brian Faux.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the family to help defray expenses. Memorial contributions can also be sent to Rescue Pets serving Vets, 4793 Red Rock Rd, Benton PA 17814.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to the hospice care staff at Residential Healthcare and the family and friends that reached out these past few weeks.
Everyone is welcome to attend a casual Celebration of Life to be held at the Summerhill Fire Hall, 422 Summerhill Road, Berwick on Sunday October 29, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
