Gary L. Kocher, age 73, of Berwick, formerly of Shickshinny, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at home.
Born in Berwick on May 1, 1950, he was a son of the late Bernard Kocher and Pearl (Hargraves) Eckart. Gary graduated from Northwest Area High School and West Side Vocational Technical School in 1968. Most recently he worked as a parts manager at Bear Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Berwick.
Gary was an active member and volunteer fire fighter with the Shickshinny Volunteer Fire Company where he was also an officer. He helped with fundraisers, called Bingo, and assisted with the yearly carnival.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Kocher and a niece, Destiny Meighan.
He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Linda Meighan, with whom he resided; and Patsy Charles of Muncy; a nephew, Jimmy Meighan; and great nephews, Mitchell Meighan, and Evan Meighan.
At Gary’s request there will be no public services.
