David F. Kemper

David F. Kemper, age 82, of Berwick and formerly of Nescopeck passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Nescopeck on December 15, 1941, he was a son of the late Leonard W. and Jean A. (Thomas) Kemper. He attended school in Nescopeck. For many years, David worked as an electrician in Pennsylvania and Florida. He also worked in Saudi Arabia where he assisted in the construction of an airport. Most recently he was employed as a water proofer for C & D Waterproofing in Bloomsburg.

David found enjoyment in work and found great satisfaction in completing any jobs either at work or at home. He loved spending time with his family. He also liked socializing and shooting pool with his friends at the many clubs where he was a member including the Slavonic Club, VFW, and others. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters: Cerita Kautz, Georgia; Michelle Barker and husband Timothy, Berwick; Penny Baylor and husband Brian, Berwick; son, Jason Kemper and wife Tina, Florida; grandchildren, Mandy, Dylan, Cheryl, Andrew, Christopher, April, Dakota, Abby, Brandon, Jessica, and Nicholas; 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. He also leaves behind brothers, Edward Kemper and wife Peggy, Florida; John Kemper, Berwick; sisters, Kathleen Diehl and fiancé Brian Kremus, Alabama; Susie Fifield and husband Dave, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Gray) Kemper in 1996; sons David F. Kemper II; and Johnny Kemper in infancy; son-in-law, David Kautz; brothers, Roland and Lenord Kemper and sister, Bonita “Bonnie” Klatt.

A memorial graveside service will be held in Sorber Cemetery at 12:30 pm on January 20, 2024. Celebration of life will follow at the VFW Post #8227, 435 W. Third Street, Nescopeck beginning at 2pm.
