Ida L. Hunsinger, age 95, formerly of Berwick, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Emmanuel Center, Danville where she was residing for the past 2 years.
Born in Berwick on February 3, 1928, she was the last of 10 children born to the late Andrew M. and Anna M. (Ertwine) Beck. She was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1946. For several years, she was employed at Wise Potato Chips, and later worked in the cafeteria at Berwick Area School District.
Ida was a member of Summerhill EUM Church. She enjoyed word search puzzles, playing Bingo and reading. She loved baking and was known for her cinnamon flop and wintergreen cake. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and over the years had the pleasure of rocking many babies.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Sandra Kershner and husband Harold, Berwick; Randy Hunsinger and wife Lynn, Berwick; Phyllis Knorr and husband Anthony, Danville; Sam Hunsinger and wife Margaret, Catawissa; Becky Knock and husband Robert, Bloomsburg; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 59 years, Kenneth S. Hunsinger; brothers, Russell, Roland, Clarence, David, and William Beck; sisters, Ruth Clark; Dorothy Smith; Mayona Chebro; and Freda Tyson.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
