Lynne Marie Wilczynski

Lynne Marie Wilczynski (Wido) passed peacefully in her home with her sister Kathy by her side on January 26, 2024, at the young age of 66.

Lynne was born in Shickshinny to her parents Clement S. Wido and the late Gladys Marie (Hoffman) Wido.  Lynne lived a happy childhood and could often be found playing on the banks of the Susquehanna River or swimming in her family pool.  Lynne graduated from Northwest Area Jr. Sr. High School in 1975.  Lynne later studied at Luzerne County Community College and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1995.  Shortly after, Lynne started working for the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Labor and Industry and quickly worked her way up to Adjudication Supervisor.  Lynne worked there for 22 years before retiring in August of 2021.

Lynne married Matthew Wilczynski in 2006.  They lived together in a log cabin that Matt built himself.  She worked hard to make the house into a home and loved spending time there.  Lynne had a green thumb and loved caring for her many plants and decorating her deck with the most beautiful flowers.  Lynne had a way with nature.  She would often share videos of the wildlife near her house and talk about the beauty of the stars and the vastness of the night sky.  Lynne not only loved life, but also her cats.  She cared for them deeply and they loved her just as much.

Lynne treasured her time with her family and friends and was always up for a trip to the beach.  Many vacations were spent on the beaches of Long Beach Island where beautiful memories were made.  Throughout her life, Lynne touched many lives.  She was never far from her cousin Paula Martini Summers, who was more like a sister-they had a bond that withstood time and change and everything in between.  Lynne was very close with her sister Kathy-they were always there for each other-even as Lynne was called from this earth.  If you knew Lynne, you know she was a special kind of force of nature.  Lynne had a passion for fashion and always dressed like she just walked off the runway.  Not many people could pull that off, but Lynne could.  Her style was impeccable and her outfits flawless.  Kathy reminisces, with a smile on her face, many a night waiting to go out with Lynne as she got ready (it was not a quick process!) but that was Lynne and everyone who knew her loved that about her.  Lynne will be missed by many.  She was taken too soon, as many of the good ones are, but you can be certain she will be waiting on the other side, dressed to the nines, listening to her music, smiling, and saying…what a ride!

Lynne was preceded in death by her husband, Matt in 2021 and her mother, Gladys in 2022.

She is survived by her brother, James Wido and wife, Debbi of Shickshinny; sister, Kathy Wido Mason of Shickshinny; brother, Michael Wido Sr. of Florida; sister, Kristen Wido of Shickshinny; and several nieces and nephews, Michael Wido, Jr., Karly Wido and son Troy, Dana Cornell and husband Justin, Nicholas Wido, Bryce Monahan, and Tresha.
